Dedicated to racers everywhere, the trials and tribulations of going racing and trying to earn enough money to keep going racing
Must remember to go and see Waz Pablo today, deliver him those Uvex racing boots that have just arrived. I'm well impressed with those, they're so comfortable and soft. I like the black ones, they're quite a "Classic" style, reckon they'll be a winner. Perhaps I'll get to see his Puma, he reckons it's a good car and quicker than his 205.
Off to Snetterton this weekend. Not racing, I'm generally getting in the way of the drivers in the team Monty Zoomers Revenge in the MGCC's 4 Hour Relay Race. Of course I did the race myself last year, but the car's in pieces so it isn't to be. The team is Andy McGee and Neville Laskey in Andy's Midget, David and Alex Smith in David's Midget and Neil Turner with Mike Heath in David's Montego. Think it'll be hard work, given that by 10 minutes into the race last year we were on the 3rd car!
Strangely the weakest link may be the Monty, it's not run much. David's car did 12 laps of the Ring last week, Andy's is regularly competing, so they are race fit.
Last year with the family we stayed in the local Travel Inn - very comfortable night, good food etc. This year I'm sleeping in the Pug. How the mighty are fallen
Actually it's convenient, besides saving a load of money towards my SCCR! Will keep the blog posted how it all goes, but of course don't expect a posting on Sunday morning!
